Jerzy Antczak’s production The Nuremberg Epilogue has been hailed—by the unanimous consensus of critics and audiences alike—as one of the most outstanding achievements in the history of Polish television theater. Based on this stage production, the director subsequently created a film of the same title. It recounts the events of the Nuremberg Trials (1945–1946), during which twelve defendants were sentenced to death. It serves not merely as a reconstruction of the proceedings, but also as a harrowing study of crime.
